WHY I CREATE:

For me art is a necessary outlet. A must. While it is difficult to zero in on my specialty, I find that I have gravitated back to graphite and charcoal pencil drawing my entire life. Whether as a final piece or a sketch for color work, a beautiful, soft pencil in my hand feels natural. But I feel it's important to juggle mediums, both to stay sharp and versatile as well as employing a bit more range to tackle each different subject. Be it oils, acrylics, pencil, or a simple ballpoint pen, each has its worth and unique effect. Though I often work from imagination, I'm equally inspired by representing real life.

HOW I GOT HERE:

I graduated with a BFA from Montserrat College of Art in Beverly, MA near Boston. I've been fortunate to be able able to make a living from my art since 1996, mostly as an illustrator and graphic designer. T-shirt and logo designs have paid the bills, but in addition, large mural commissions, poster creation, editorial illustration, storyboards for advertising agencies and production companies, even guitars and furniture renderings have broadened my experience and my horizons.

Pencil, charcoal and oil portraits have become a specialty over the last decade; capturing the personalities of children, family members, even pets, brings me as much joy as the recipients of these unique gifts. I've also been sharpening my skills in other mediums like acrylic paint.

THE REST OF THE STORY:

I currently reside in Coventry, CT with my wife, son and quirky dog. To my great joy my daughter, son-in-law and 2 beautiful granddaughters live nearby. I enjoy myself most when I'm creating or with my family!

WHAT I CAN DO FOR YOU:

Create a memory, a moment in time, of your family or loved one(s) or favorite subject in your preferred medium. I recreate people, places, homes and can work with you to transform those photos into a lasting treasure. Or, if you prefer we'll craft that illustration you dream up and bring it to life.
